About the Speaker
Prof. Kalavathy Ramasamy is currently the Head of the Collaborative Drug Discovery Research (CDDR) Group at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM. She has held various administrative positions which include Head of Department, Deputy Dean for Research as well as the Director of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences (PLS) Community of Research (CoRe), a university position at the Research Management Centre. Professor Ramasamy is also a firm advocate of probiotic and gut health-based research. Her research interests include probiotics, prebiotics, aging and gut-brain axis. She has also authored close to 180 research articles in reputable journals. Professor Ramasamy has secured various national and international grants and her research has yielded 2 patents (1 granted and 1 pending) and numerous research awards.
