About the Speaker
Prof. Hui-Yu Huang received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA. She currently serves as Professor and Director of the Graduate Institute of Metabolism and Obesity Sciences at Taipei Medical University. Her research focuses on the gut–brain–metabolism axis and the regulatory mechanisms linking microbiota dysbiosis to metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders. She integrates microbiome, metabolism, and translational nutrition research to develop novel probiotic and lifestyle-based interventions. Professor Huang has been recognized with multiple university and national awards, including the Industry–Academia Collaboration Excellence Award (2023) and Outstanding International Journal Paper Award (2021). Her work bridges basic mechanistic studies and clinical translation, advancing understanding of how lactic acid bacteria can modulate host metabolic resilience and neuroprotection.
