About the Speaker

Prof. Yong Ha Park is an internationally recognized microbiologist and biotechnology innovator dedicated to advancing microbiome-based solutions for chronic diseases. After earning his Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemistry from the University of Tokyo, he held senior scientific roles at KAIST and KRIBB before joining Yeungnam University as a Professor. As founder of the ProBionic Institute and ProBionic Corp., he led the discovery of Lactobacillus sakei Probio65® from Korean kimchi and successfully translated it to a clinically validated human health ingredient and pharmaceutical candidate for skin, sinus, and eye disorders. His research focuses on harnessing beneficial microbes and their metabolites to develop new drugs targeting atopic dermatitis, respiratory health, immune imbalance, brain health, female reproductive health and metabolic health. Author of over 200 peer-reviewed papers and numerous patents, Prof. Park continues to bridge traditional fermentation science with next-generation microbiome therapeutics.
