Full Description
About the Speaker
Prof. Yuan-Man Hsu My core research focuses on the strategic application of probiotics and herbal medicines in animal feed for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal infections. I employ a rigorous approach, leveraging my expertise in molecular and cellular assays, to understand the multilateral interactions between probiotics, pathogens, and host cells, aiming to enhance therapeutic efficacy. Recent findings, such as the effective suppression of Helicobacter pylori by Lactobacillus rhamnosus JB3 (LR-JB3), exemplify this work. Specifically, LR-JB3 reduces gastric inflammation in mice by attenuating bacterial virulence factors and inhibits H. pylori infection of AGS cells in vitro through multiple, non-bactericidal mechanisms, positioning it as a potent modulator of host–pathogen dynamics and a promising candidate for novel interventions in animal health.
