About the Speaker
Prof. Wei-Li Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University. He received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Academia Sinica, studying emotion-related behaviors in mouse models. From 2012–2014, he trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Caltech in Prof. Paul Patterson’s lab, investigating maternal immune activation in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and schizophrenia, and later joined Prof. Sarkis Mazmanian’s group to study the gut–brain axis and microbial influences on behavior. Since 2018, Dr. Wu has led his own lab at NCKU, focusing on how gut microbiota shape brain circuits and innate behaviors, aiming to uncover microbial signals that influence brain health and inspire microbiota-based therapies.
