About the Speaker
Prof. Jiro Nakayama is Full Professor of Microbial Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University, Japan. His research career on gut microbiology was initiated in 1998 in Wageningen in the Netherlands. Now, he is conducting Asian Microbiome Project, an international consortium to investigate structure and function of gut microbiota of Asian people together with researchers from 20 institutes in 10 countries. Thus far, he published nearly 200 peer-reviewed papers and nearly 100 review papers.
