About the Speaker
Dr. Hiroshi Ohno was graduated from School of Medicine, Chiba University in 1983, and Graduate School of Medicine in 1991. After working as an assistant and associate professor at Chiba University, he became a full professor at Kanazawa University, and moved to RIKEN Research Center for Allergy and Immunology as a Team Leader in 2004. He is now a Team Director at RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences. His research interest is intestinal immunology, especially the function and differentiation of antigen-sampling epithelial M cells, and the impact of host-gut microbiome interaction on the host physiology and pathology. To this end, he has established, integrated omics approach combining (meta)genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics and elucidated important aspects of the impact of gut microbiome on the host pathophysiology, He has published nearly 250 original articles.
